Patricia began her love affair with fabric as a small child using leftover scraps of fabric to make her doll’s clothes...

By taking apart the "store made" clothes, she learned to design and make her own, and continued to create and sew garments for her dolls and herself. Although she has always loved to draw and paint,  quilting became the artistic expression she finds most exhilarating and satisfying.

Believing  her creativity and talents are gifts from God, she tries to use them in a way that  reflects her faith and gives glory to her Creator.

Patricia is passionate about fabric, color  and quilt design and enjoys sharing her knowledge and  talents with others. She is known for her award-winning, intricately pieced and appliqued quilts which use traditional blocks and techniques in not-so-traditional ways.

Teaching quiltmaking professionally since 1994,  Patricia also enjoys teaching young people the art of quilting.  She hopes to continue the art and legacy of quilting for the next generation.

She is the designer and creator of the X-BlocksTM Rotary Cutting Tool. This exciting technique creates many different designs from simple blocks or strips and makes spectacular quilts that look complex but are amazingly quick and easy!  Patricia also designed a line of X-Blocks patterns to be used with the tool, and thus her business, Quilt Queen Designs was born.  The entire line of Quilt Queen Designs products can be viewed on the X-Blocks page of this site.

Patricia loves to travel and is available for classes, workshops, retreats and lectures.

What's News In The Queendom !
Oh, woe is me!  I've been so busy getting ready for Spring Market that I haven't been able to enjoy the beautiful weather and all the beauty that comes with Spring.
The hillsides around me are now turning brown and the flowers have faded -
hot weather is on it's way!

Speaking of Spring Quilt Market - I am so excited and can't wait to see all the new and exciting things.  I've got 3 brand new patterns (I LOVE them), new samples and I'll have the pattern for the Pick Up Stix quilt that was featured in the April issue of Quilter's World
magazine www.quilters-world.com
Please stop by the Quilt Queen Designs booth #1762 to check these out -
and I promised some gals I'd have chocolate!
You can get more info of Spring Quilt Market by visiting the IQA website: www.quilts.com

My workshop in Kansas was so much fun - I'm still clicking my heels together!
The ladies there took me in and treated me like family - which I will gladly join.
I'm almost ready to pack up and move!
I got a chance to tour the countryside and visit some wonderful places -
it's really a very beautiful place!

Many new quilt shops have joined the X-Blocks family -
they're listed on the Quilt Queen Designs page.

My BIG new project is still coming along, although I've had to set it aside while I prepared for Quilt Market - but will jump right back in when I return!!
I am very excited about it but must keep it a secret
for just a little while longer!
Stay posted for updates - you won't want to miss this!

but the Word of our God stands forever.
